Able versus -Ible

The ending is usually ‘-Ible’ if the root is not a complete word, like credible, impossible, plausible; or if the root ends in NS, SS, soft C, or soft G, like defensible, admissible, enforcible, legible. Otherwise ‘Able’ is correct.
